It´s mushroom time - indoor and outdoor. After a long and dry summer we checked for mushrooms two weeks ago and there where none to be found. Then it started raining by the end of September and suddenly the little friends startet do show up. We went mushroom hunting a couple of times and found several little guys who agreed to be part of our dinner.

We found mushrooms of the boletus family, chanterelles and parasoles and thanked them all for showing up. They tasted so lovely chopped with garlic and onions, fried shortly in a pan.

And of course I had to design a pattern with the tasty friends. Thanks for bringing so much joy to our taste buds, wonderful fungis. #mushroom #magic #patterndesign #fungi #vegan #tastebudsjoy

And another tea-towel pattern is leaving my craft room. This time I tried to throw my focus on backyard winter birds but finished a design without birds:-). I loved it more to create bird houses on a backround snowflakes design. I tried to catch the winter mood through the icey colors grey and white and think, it looks quite chilley.

I guess the birds moved all out during winter season spending the cold days in warmer countries like Spain and Africa. It looks like it with the white entry wholes on the front of the bird houses. There just came the idea of adding "For Rent" Signs to the design. Maybe next time. For now I like the pattern the way it is.

Have an amazing, inspirational week.

So sorry, it´s been a while since I wrote my last post. Corona still keeps me busy and there wasn´t much time, making new patterns. I try my best to start again after 5 month of pattern break. Time is flying and there is still so much to learn for my portfolio.

For todays pattern I made a tea-towel in fresh, green hues. Since fall is coming here in Germany there starts a lack of light and it´s always a good idea bringing fresh colors into homes with kitchen-gadgets like these. Vegan is starting to be a big hit and so many huge companies try to come out with new products for consious people. I startet eating vegan 8 years ago and so many things in my life changed to the better.

Have a wonderful day today.

Hello, beautiful people out there,
we are still in Corona-lockdown here in Germany. I try to make the best out of it being creative.
For this week Spoonflower called in for a design challenge that is called "Design for good". It´s about finding a cause, that is close to my heart, making a pattern out of it.

I thought a lot about subjects that are important to me and after a long time of thinking I decided to come up with a pattern for women. Women are great! Don´t you think so? Of course, men are great, too. But today, this is about the girls. I don´t know, what picture you have of yourself. For me I love being female. I love my feminine body. I love the thoughts my mind comes up with. I love my intuition and gut feeling. I love my sense of spirituality. I love being able bringing new life into this world.

There is still a lot out of balance on this planet for women. With todays pattern I want to bring up the subject of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). Have you heared of it yet? It is a ritual cutting or removing parts of the external female genitalia. 200 Million Women have experienced the procedure worldwide somewhere between their birth until puberty. It is done to control the female sexuality. Circumsized Women are called pure and beautiful in some traditions and if isn´t done, many fear social exclusion.

Most girls collect a trauma while a traditional circumciser uses blades and razors, doing this ritual. Not rarely this leads to heavy bleeding, infections, chronic pain and even death. And on the long run it´s often a struggle to urinate, mentruate, having sex or giving birth to a child later on. There are no health benefits.

Female Circumsision is a subject in many parts of the world. In Germany FGM is against the law and still there are 70.000 girls and women in my country threatend by it. In Europe, France has the highest number of FGM-victims.

This is a subject that really touches my heart deeply. I´d love to dedicate this pattern to all women in this world who experienced FGM. And my thoughts are with the ones that lost their lifes undergoing the procedure. I´m sending all my love and courage to you out there and hope, this tradition will end.
It is about time that women all over the world make their own decisions that their bodys need. There is no need for harming control or traditions.
So, be the mother who ends circumsision in your family.

Big hugs to all of you out there,
be safe,

I can´t wait for spring to arrive. The winter in Germany are long and dark since we don´t get snow any more. It is really a challenge to wait for the sun to come back. Yesterday we had a lovely breeze of spring in the air and the spirit and inspiration went up immediately.

I had to finish a bright yellow design with lots of flowers, butterflies, leaves and funny dots right away. This will be a reminder of the bright and lightful days that come closer again. It cheers up, makes happy and brings good mood.
Lots of love,

Today I had loads of time spending in my creative room. I played around with my sewing machine and made black lines and zick-zacks on white paper. I liked it so much that I had to put it in the backround of this design. Do you like it as much as I do?

Last week I had the urgend feeling of drawing a chameleon. It took me quite a while until I was satisfied with it. So, here they are, the little fellows. And of course, they don´t match with the backround color because they were born to stand out.
Lots of love,

Hello, you beautiful!
Have a wonderful Valentine´s Day with your loved ones today. And don´t forget to spread love wherever you go. Here is a little reminder for you.

I made this heartfilled design especially for today. I had so much fun doodeling along the heartshaped fillings. And I like the colours very much. The different hues of pink and red look nice together.

Hello, dear people out there.
I have new designs ready and here they are.

I also found another motif I didn´t publish yet.
It had the theme street and here it comes.

Have a lovely week and don´t work too hard.
Bye for now,

Pantone announced the color of the year 2020 a couple of weeks ago. It is called classic blue and now it won´t take long until the industry will start to react on this announcement, bringing out clothing and accessories in this color tone.

Spoonflower made a design challenge with the theme "Classic Blue" and there were four colors allowed that can be used creating a design. I started with fish in the water, then tried tiles in a kitchen and finally liked this motif the most. I always come back to clean, clear, bold designs.
Have a lovely Sunday, you all.

There was Red-Panda-Week on Illustration Friday this week and I made some as a motif. My creative mantra for 2020 is "Do everything with love" but I still have to work on this quote until I am satisfied with my art. Right now it looks a lot like art for kids which is okay for me right now. No, it´s not.

I truly want to challenge myself to get better. I guess, there is a lot to do and I need to practise a lot more until I start to like what I am doing (if that´s possible at all). There is a goal in my mind and I´d love to reach it. I won´t give up, though.
Hugs and kisses,

Okay, I promised myself to be busy designing in 2020. No more postponing things. No telling myself I have to do urgent errands before drawing a motif. This year I will get good, finding my own style besides building up my portfolio.

So, here is this weeks design challenge from Spoonflower. The theme was Vintage-Kitsch. I thought of a design packed with dolphins, flamingos, bambis and other pinkish stuff. It didn´t work for me and I reduced it again because I am more the bold designer. It is still Vintage and also Kitsch.

If you have seen the worldwide news last week you might have been informed about the devastating, apocalyptic bushfires in Australia. Each year there is a fire season during the Australian summer but this year it´s worse. Maybe because of climate change.
The dry and hot weather made it easy for blazes to start and spread. And that happened in a quick and concerning way in many parts of the country. In New South Wales alone, more than 100 fires are still burning.

Firefighters try everything they can, working hard to stop the infernos. People lost their lives and/or their homes. Half a billion animals were affected, especially wonderful koalas, Australias native furry friends.

It was heartbreaking, seeing these cute animals with burned fur and paws, trying to get water and help from humans. I donated money immediately to support humans and animals. And I did a mental rain dance with many others which helped shortly because rain came down. But not enough. The fires are still on. There is no way to find how big the damage is until the fires stop and nobody knows how long this will take. Today, I want to ask you for help. You could send positive, healing thoughts and prayers to Australia. You could also give support through a donation. Here are different informations how to give help to firefighters, humans and/or animals
You could also do a rain dance, which I´d love to see. So, if you do so, please send me a picture of it.
Thanks for your help.
Lots of love,
