As you might know I am also a ConsciousCoach working with people to find their inner talents and potential. In todays design I wanted to create a motif for them. It is called be the one who finds the gold. I am talking about the treasures that are in everyone of us. No matter if you are talented in cooking, writing, singing or playing a wonderful instrument. Maybe you are very empathetically or you are great in maths. Everything we own or hide inside of us is something out world needs these days.

If you don´t know your potential then watch yourself while being with others. Is there something you admire on another person like he/she´s good at drawing/painting or is he/she able to talk fluently danish? Very often we project skills we admire onto others because we don´t live them ourselves.
They mostly give answer to our own inner gold we hide for many reasons. It is important to find out why we admire these skills on others and how we can bring them into our own lives.

A new theme came up for Illustration Friday. This time it´s umbrella and I so I sat down and drew some. Wow, what a colour explosion. It feels so much like summer, sun and ocean. I tried a softer yellow first but my soul called for the bright stuff today.

It is really time for warm and sunny days. The sun is out today and I will grab a book and sit in the warmth.

Here is a new pattern for my she-collection. I came up with it after joining a group of woman making natural based treatments out of herbs for our loved ones. We gathered together in the kitchen of a wonderful lady, there was rain and storm outside and we stirred and mixed different ingredients together for our first-aid products.

We poured the mixtures into sweet tiny containers and after we were done, all women put their hands up above the newly made products. We let all our good vibes of healing power as wifes and mothers flow into the mixture and it truly was a magical moment. I was able to feel the energy and it touched me deeply inside my heart. I brought my wonderful treasures home and treated my husband and children with them when they needed it.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Do you know Illustration Friday? It is a wonderful plattform for artists to have a weekly challenge Every week there is a new topic online and everybody is invited to join and send artwork in. This weeks topic is SNAILS and I designed a pattern with a snail house for it.

There is always a winner they announce and it is a great opportunity to do a design once a week. I also appreciate it because there are often topics I never thought of before so I have to leave my own comfort zone (which is great for new inspirations).
If you want to find out more about it, visit them on
Have fun creating snails yourself,

Happy second day of spring to all of you. I am so happy a new season started and I can´t wait for all the green and flowers to come out in nature. Right now, the world is still quite grey, windy and rainy outside and I wonder when life starts to come back visibly.
Here is my patterns-meets-spirit-artwork of the week. I love the polka dots that look so irregular and I am such a huge fan of the colour combination of grey and yellow in all different shades.

I love the phrase in the design and whenever I can I walk by people and smile at them in love. Many, many times they smile back at me. First in surprise, second in happiness. This always makes my day. It is true magic. If you give something good, you get something good.
I am also a big fan of the free hugs campain. Do you know the video. Just click on it and I promise you will smile with an open heart in less than one minute.

Here is my free hug for you.

Finally I am back in my art-room again. This past week was so loaded with things I needed to do that I could hardly think of anything else. We had beautiful weather so my garden called me outside. We dragged so much dirt inside so my house was a mess after the garden was nice and clean. The fridge was empty, the laundry ready to be made. And my students needed me urgently this week, so I had to work more hours there than normally. Whenever I tried to find time sneaking into my creative room doing a design there came something up. I am thankful for my life but sometimes it can be cramped.

I realize more and more that I get unhappy without designing. It is the quality time I have with myself. When I put everything else first in my life I don´t feel good after a couple of days and I can get crumpy if things don´t change. I think, this is an issue many women have to deal with in life. We want to be good mothers, wifes, friends, employees, housewifes, gardeners so we put ourselves last.
This is not good for us because we only can give when our batteries are fully loaded as well. So give yourself some extra time. Plan it into your day. Get up early in the morning and please yourself with an hour of sport, yoga, meditation, music, creativity, a good book or anything else you are happy with.

Do you feel tired these days? Does your body want to rest whenever there´s a sofa around? It is the challenging energy that surrounds us these days on Mother Earth. The only thing we can do is to get rest whenever we need it. This helps and brings us safely over this period of time. And don´t forget while waiting for your energy to return - you are capable of amazing things.

So take your pillow with you, allow yourself to rest when you feel like it and things will get better soon. It´s power nap time this month (or longer) on our planet.

I am a big fan of books about women who were/are real pioneers in something they did/do in their lives. No matter if it´s art, music, literature, fashion, politics, business or architecture.
I love the vibes that come from these books. These women make me feel that I can find my own strength, too. Here is my pattern for today´s "She-Project". I dedicate it to all women out in this world who are brave and strong and walk their own path in life. No matter what others say.

Here is my list of super women that are my role models in life:

1.   Pippi Longstockings (Hero) - the best hero a girl can ask for
2.   Beyoncè (Music) - her last performance as a goddess was amazing
3.   Elsa Schiaparelli (Fashion) - she dared to design outstanding dresses
4.   Michelle Obama (Politics) - for president 2020
5.   Winnie Harlow (Model) - she has vitiligo which doesn´t stop here being a top model
6.   Mother Theresa (Inspiration) - she did so much good for the poor ones
7.   Frida Kahlo (Artist) - she lived a hard life and never gave up
8.   Catherine, Dutches of Cambridge (Royal) - I love her style and her social commitment
9.   Malala Yousafzai (Politics) - was shot by the taliban because she dared to go to school
10. Olivia Palermo (Style) - she impresses herself with her beautiful outfits

My list is endless. There are so many wonderful female stories in this world to think of.
Who are your super women? Are there strong ladies you adore? If you think about them and the reasons why you adore them then you might find your own path in life you like to follow.
Have a beautiful day.

Warm greetings from my artsy-room. I discovered the brush-tool in Adobe and couldn´t stop myself using it. I love it so much when something new comes up. Today I wasn´t so much into colours. I tried some through like hot pink, mustard yellow and saphire blue. Then I decided to go without them, having a bold design that you can see here.
I like the crips and clean look of the flowers and the blossom pattern repeated on the backround in combination with the tiffany blue. It has such a softening effect when I look at it.
Horoo for today,
lots of love,

I love my She-Series so much. It has such a soft and still powerful, female energy. When I do designs for it, I feel connected to women all over the world. And I am proud of myself being one of them, feeling the connection to nature and knowing, I am able to heal myself and others.

Three month ago I finished training to become a witch. Yes, it´s true. It took me 3,5 years of eager learning about the healing power of plants, scents, stones, etc. to earn this title honestly. I loved to bring old knowledge back into my life and learned how to get reconnected to mother nature. Since December past year I am officially allowed to call myself "freeflying witch". Freeflying because I don´t belong to a coven.

Here comes a new wonderful designer for my "12"-series.
I proudly present: JOHANNA FRITZ

Johanna is a freelance illustrator since 2005. Her expertise is the children´s (book) market. In 2016 she started to coach other illustrators to become more successful. As more and more illustrators wanted to be coached, Johanna came up with the online-course "Erfolgreich Illustrator werden", which is providing all the steps to become a successful illustrator. She lives with her two little daughters and husband in the vineyards of Stuttgart, Germany.
Please feel free to visit her homepage: and or her blog

So hello and a warm welcome, dear Johanna. I am so happy you are joining "12".

1. When did your interest in design/iilustration/art first start and how did that come about?
It startet when I was a little girl. I always had pens with me. I drew seventy-two pictures for Christmas eve, because I wanted this evening last as long as possible. I remember, before we went on vacation I created some fun books for my little brother, so he had something to color and look at, while we were back in the car. My mother has drawing skills, too. So I guess it´s her, who I will always be thankful for that gift. And it is such a joy to watch my older girl (who just turned five) turning into a little artist, too. She is like me, when I was five.

2. What steps did you take to get to where you are now as a designer/illustrator/artist?
I studied communication design in Berlin from 2002-2006. That´s when I realized that I actually want to become an illustrator. I had an amazing teacher at the cartoon class who helped me to create my first cartoons, which got published by a nationwide TV-magazine. That was the beginning of all the other publications.
As a mentor, coach, social media strategist, I have to thank my coach Sue. B. Zimmermann. I was always a lot into social media, but when she got on my radar, everything became clearer and I discovered my passion to help other illustrators to be more successful. It is the best thing I have ever done and it makes me smile (almost) every day.

3. How would you describe your style?
My illustration style is colorful, bold and quirky. I like to put a sense of humor in all of my pieces.

4. Who are your favorite designers?
There are so many, it would be unfair to pick only one or two of them.

5. What kind of designer/artist do you want to be known as?
I want my illustrations to be remembered by todays kids when they are grown ups. Just as I remember the illustrations of the children´s books that my mother read to me. I hope, they´ll have a smile on their face, when they remember one of the books that I illustrated.

6. What is your favourite medium you like to work with?
I love to work digital with Photoshop. It simply brings me the most joy and the best results. Once in a while, especially when I am doodling for my Instagram challenge, I like Micron Pens, Polychromos color pencils or the SAI Brush Pens, too. But for all my clients illustrations I am using Adobe Photoshop or sometimes Illustrator.

7. What are you currently working on?
It´s a marathon these days. Haha. I am working on four children´s books (age 18 month +), two riddle books and a book for kindergarten friends. And as soon as those are finished, I am working on my coloring book that I want to self-publish and my next onlinecourse-launch.

8. How do you fuel your inspirations?
By walking through the vineyard, going on short trips and vacations and (since a week *Haha*) by going to the fitness centre. That was so necessary. I needed something on a routine basis to clear my head and get new ideas. It also gives me space to do something just for myself. No kids, no work. Just me. That is super important and I am happy that I finally did it.

9. How does your creative process look like?
When I am working on a children´s book, I am doing everything from sketch to the final illustration on my computer. When I can choose, I do everything with Photoshop. Sketches, outlines, coloring. Everything. Depending on the project, I sometimes create a private moodboard on Pinterest to get a sense of what I want the book to be like.

10. What are your major goals for the next years?
My mentoring. As soon as I have finished my current clients illustrations, I will take a pause of illustrating for the rest of the year. I want to launch a podcast for creatives with creatives, I will launch two online courses and hopefully do some webinars... I have so many ideas that can help others and hopefully bring them a lot of joy. I can´t wait to get started.

Wow, Johanna. I am very impressed and wish you all the best for your wonderful projects. I truly love the idea of your illustration course and read it all through on your homepage. It is so wonderful.
I also love the fact that you are both artist and coach like me. It is so rewarding helping others on their path to creativity, isn´t it?
Thank you for your amazing artwork, your time and the inspiration you are for others.
