Today I love to introduce you to my favourite drink and super food after lunch right now. It´s called "Golden Milk" or "Turmeric Milk". In India it is called "Haldi Doodh" and it is part of the 4000 years old ayurvedic teaching there. Main part of the milk is the bright yellow turmeric which makes the drink very healthy. It helps beating free radicals and has an antiphlogistic effect. Turmeric helps to excite the liver building more bile acid which eases the digestion of fat foods. Google Food Trends named the wonderful spice "Breakout Star 2016" because search query increased 56 % from November 2015 to January 2016 for the yellow spud.

It is really easy to make. You start with a paste which builds the backround of your milk.

For the turmeric paste:
1/4 cup turmeric
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp grounded, black pepper (increases the effectivness of the turmeric many times)

Put all ingredients in a pot and let it cook until it becomes a paste. Let it dry and fill it in a lockable glass.You can keep it in the fridge for up to two weeks.

For the golden milk:
1 tsp of the paste
1 glass of milk (I used homemade plant spelt milk)
1 tsp nativ coconut oil

Put paste and milk in a pot and let it cook for a short period of time until the ingredients blend together. Add the coconut oil, stirr and pour it into a glass.
It tastes wonderfully spicy.
